50% increase of EDI partner connections within 5 months: This the result of the successful cooperation between EDI Provider EDITEL Austria and the retail chain MPreis. Maximum optimization of the supply chain processes within the FMCG sector: this is the objective of this year’s EDI initiative of the Austrian retail sector.

The Austrian retail chain MPreis with 197 stores and about 4.880 employees uses EDI already for many years and was one of the first companies to follow the initiative in the sector. In cooperation with the EDI provider EDITEL Austria MPreis increased the number of EDI partner connections to more than 50 per cent in five months. The order process via electronic data interchange included electronic order, dispatch advices and invoices. “The increase of more than 200 EDI partners brought for our company many benefits. Today we can guarantee a higher level of reliability in the delivery, avoid manual errors and have altogether a higher efficiency in our replenishment process. Thanks to the increase of paperless processes we also make an important contribution to a sustainable business activity, also for our suppliers. We hope that many more partners in the sector will support the EDI initiative. Only with a joint commitment we can benefit from the whole potential for optimization and cost saving, says Martin Mölk, Head of IT of MPreis.
