EDI Communication for Eurest
In order to provide highly professional services to its clients, F&B expert Eurest orders food from more than 450 suppliers, which translates into an F&B purchasing volume of more than 30 million euro per year. In an effort to make the procurement of more than 15,000 articles as efficient as possible, Eurest has decided to handle all procurement of goods processes electronically and automatically via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).

A single connection via eXite®
Eurest relies on the EDI platform eXite® to process all orders electronically via a single connection to its suppliers. It allows Eurest to exchange orders, despatch advices as well as article master data (PRICAT) in real time. Also, all processes can be traced at all times, which increases data quality and transparency at all stages of the procurement of goods process. In addition, this procedure helps save time and resources.
Currently, Eurest handles more than half of all ordered merchandise (=95% of material costs) via electronic procurement processes (EDI). EDITEL was Eurest’s EDI partner for connecting suppliers and business partners. Thanks to EDITEL’s customized assistance and roll-out management, Eurest was able to introduce EDI swiftly and efficiently. In the near future, Eurest plans to increase the above-mentioned percentage to 100%.
